Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) serves as a potent oxidizer and has long been acknowledged for its effectiveness in sterilization within enclosed filling isolators. With the rising prevalence of isolator applications, there’s an increasing demand for robust samplers capable of enduring such environments. Typically, samplers exposed to VHP undergo corrosion and deterioration of internal surfaces as well as a shortened product lifespan and a shortened mean time to failure (MTTF). To overcome this challenge, preventative measures were designed for the units and then the flow path surfaces of the samplers underwent testing under both static conditions and full VHP cycling tests while the instrument was operating. Each phase’s results were reviewed and compared against the specifications outlined in the calibration procedure. All outcomes fell within acceptable limits. The MiniCapt Pro instruments are a suitable option for those applications where exposure to harsh cleaning and sanitization processes are routine, including VHP in isolators.
