Adding Point-Specific Concentration Data into FacilityNet via OPC in a AirSentry® II AMC Monitoring System
The AirSentry® II AMC Multipoint Monitoring System can be configured such that point-specific concentration tags (sample location concentration data) are visible and managed by FacilityNet, not just in the onboard Supervisory Control and Data Access (SCADA) software, iFix™. Once configured properly in FacilityNet, all the FacilityNet features such as status indicators, graphical tools, and automated notifications can be utilized to their fullest extent. Additionally, once these tags are configured, the data can also be made accessible by any other OPC protocol-driven software within the manufacturing TCP/IP network via the onboard FacilityNet OPC Server.
This paper will provide directions to add these point-specific concentration data tags into the local FacilityNet OPC Driver application on the integrated industrial computer. This process provides this data to the FacilityNet OPC sever which can be accessed from other OPC data handling systems. Additionally, the paper outlines the step-by-step procedure for creating automated notifications that are generated whenever user-defined limits are applied to any data tags in FacilityNet (for utilizing additional FacilityNet features, please see the FacilityNet Operations Manual on the Facility Net Product Page )
