We are looking for a Revenue/Cost Accountant with excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively in a team environment and interface with many internal customers across various departments to deliver financial reports and resolve complex cost accounting issues. In addition, the candidate will contribute to process improvements. 

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Complete month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and analysis of various inventory, warranty reserves and royalty calculations
  • Responsibility for the correct application of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and any relevant judgments to technical accounting matters for revenue recognition
  • Maintain standard costs, support processes associated with inventory valuation, and complete review of the excess and obsolete inventory
  • Review and analyse inventory, cost of goods sold, and margin reports, conduct research and perform review in regard to cost or variance analyses
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of reserve schedules and all inventory related reporting.
  • Manage preparation and execution of standard cost roll up
  • Audit cycle count/physical inventories activity and provides recommendations for process and accuracy improvements
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects that impact inventory and cost of goods sold
  • Ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
  • Perform technical research and interpret relevant accounting guidance to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with company policy and current accounting standards
  • Assist as needed in various aspects of the close process
  • Calculate monthly commission/incentives based on compensation plan provisions
  • Support audit activities within area of responsibility

Skills and experience

  • Accounting Degree required. IFRS (especially IFRS 15) practical knowledge is essential
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an accountant
  • Strong Cost accountant with ability to make decisions on accounting transactions with limited guidance
  • Prior ERP experience essential. Exposure to IFS would be a plus
  • Strong communication skills (the position will interact regularly with a wide array of people to gather information from both finance and operations)
  • Intermediate user in Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience within semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries also preferred
