Environmental Recovery Time
As part of our comprehensive cleanroom certification services we provide cleanroom recovery tests.
Cleanrooms and clean areas are not static environments, they are environments where work is performed through sometimes complex methods and most always with the protection of the product, patient or operator in mind. Particle Measuring Systems and CAS together have over 100 years of experience in designing, testing and controlling systems that require this level of environmental command.
The purpose of the Clean Room Recovery test is to determine the amount of time that is necessary for the environmental conditions in a clean area to return to a specified steady state of control after a brief particle generation event. According to ISO 14644-3:2005 there are two recovery tests available to determine a cleanroom’s ability to recover quickly from a high concentration of particles: 1) recovery time and 2) recovery rate. A high concentration of test particles are introduced into the clean area (if possible, 1000x higher than the normal concentration of the room). Recovery time is obtained by measuring the time for the airborne particle concentration to decrease by a hundredth.
CAS uses aerosol generators to produce a particle event and the Lasair III Particle Counter to monitor predetermined critical points in the clean area until they return to stasis. Audit ready calibration certificates are provided with your final report.
