Airborne and Surface Microbial Testing Services
Effective and reliable cleanroom microbial testing is part of our CAS Clean Air Services Team’s comprehensive cleanroom certification services.
Together, Particle Measuring Systems and CAS offer world class microbial testing and advisory services to measure airborne and surface microbial contamination for your cleanroom operations and clean areas. Microbial contamination can impact clean manufacturing and operating areas in similar ways to particles. However, while non-viable particulate can be cleaned by filtration, even minor microbial contamination can replicate and spread. Monitoring the microbial contamination levels in your cleanroom provides a cost-effective way to understand the sterility of the area and it provides actionable data to implement corrective procedures. Additionally, CAS’s Microbial Monitoring Services help you effectively meet regulations such as EU GMP Annex 1.
How can you increase your confidence in the sterility of your clean area?
The most basic approach to cleanroom microbial testing and monitoring is surface testing. Settle plates are placed in static locations throughout the facility to manually measure contamination levels in that place. This is a sensible and compliant solution for small operations and cleanroom certifications.
Another fully compliant approach is remote (active-air) microbial airborne monitoring. This method employs a stationary instrument that continuously draws ambient air through it, monitors that air for microbes and periodically reports environmental data to a central computer providing a real-time view of your facility in operation.
As with any system, the greater the quantity of samples taken, the better the confidence in the data. To increase the certainty that the area being monitored is under control, CAS uses industry-leading MiniCapt® Mobile active-air and BioCapt® airborne microbial testing instruments from Particle Measuring Systems. These instruments are fully calibrated by our in-house SCS 0118 certified laboratory. Audit ready calibration certificates are provided with your final report.
