Particle Monitoring in Sterilizing Tunnels

Particle Monitoring in Sterilizing Tunnels

Abstract

TP28SterilizingtunnelsSterilizing tunnels are used to ensure sterility off glassware (vials, syringes, bottles) prior to their entry onto an aseptic filling line, where internal temperatures can reach up to 200ºC. These are typically classified as Class A environments so it must be monitored on a regular basis to prove it meets the requirements. Portable aerosol particle counters are designed to sample ambient air no greater than 35ºC. Best methods and locations for monitoring particles levels in a sterilizing tunnel are discussed.
