How will USP 797 be enforced?
There are several tiers of enforcement:
The FDA has authority to enforce and is pushing state agencies to adopt sterile compounding standards.
The NABP enforces the USP standards and recommends implementation by states.
The JCAHO reference USP compliance as best practice.
Many state boards have adopted USP 797.
