How important is it to maintain the specified flow rate of my liquid particle counter?

Flow rate effects the transit time of particles across the laser. Therefore, each instrument is calibrated to a specific flow. Running the particle counter above or below the specified flow rate can cause over and under counting and over and under sizing.
