Question
What is the frequency for performing a zero count on the LASAIR II 550L? How do you perform the zero count? What is the acceptance criterion for the zero count?
Answer

Zero counting is part of the calibration procedure. There is a zero counting challenge in the validation manual that is more stringent than the JIS standard. The validation manual allows for no more than 1 particle in a 2 minute period, where the JIS standard specifies 1 particle in a 5 minute period. As we have no control over the room in which they perform this test, we must assume that we are trying to challenge the ability of the particle counter to zero count and verify that no contamination exists within the optical chamber.

Without Measurement There Is No Control
