Many current standards define airborne particle monitoring in units of particles per cubic meter of air (particles/m3). Often, these standards require sampling an entire cubic meter (1 m3) of air to provide an accurate measurement of airborne particulate levels. Sampling 1 m3 of air is time consuming when using conventional aerosol particle counters that sample at 1 cubic-foot per minute (1 CFM), which is equal to 28.3 LPM. Now, Particle Measuring Systems offers the Lasair® III 5100 Particle Counter that samples volumetric flow rates of 100 LPM. This application note will discuss the benefits of sampling at higher flow rates. |
