In SamplerSight-Pharma, users are only prompted for the Instrument Type on initial start up of the application. This is convenience of the user, for they can select the type of instrument to run and the application remembers that setting. There are occasions where a user needs to switch the Instrument Type; this document provides the steps on how this is done.

For Versions 2.1 Service Pack 2 and up, we have added an easy way to switch instruments. There is a new shortcut in start menu (from Desktop go to Start/Programs/Particle Measuring) of SamplerSight-Pharma/Select Instrument to select when needing to change instrument type.

For Version 2.1 (2.1.060306) SP2 Release and Up - Preferred Method

1. Select Start/ Programs /Particle Measuring
2. Select "SamplerSight-Pharma - Select Instrument" (see example of listing below)
3. Application should automatically start up, select the new instrument type you with to switch to for "Please select an Instrument" prompt then click OK button

Note: This can be sent to the desktop as a shortcut by right clicking then selecting Send To/Desktop (create a shortcut)

For Older Systems: Preferred Method

1. Select Start then Run
2. Type (include the quotes) "C:\Program Files\ParticleMeasuring\SamplerSight-Pharma \SamplerSight-Pharma.exe" /select
3. Application should automatically start up, select the new instrument type you wish to switch to for "Please select an instrument: prompt then click OK button

For older systems: only use as a last resort

Warning: this way will cause their data configuration settings (under Configure Data) to be reset to the defaults.

1. Shutdown application
2. Right click on Start then select Explorer
3. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\ParticleMeasuring\SamplerSight-Pharma directory
4. Locate and delete SamplerSight-Pharma.mdb file
5. Close Windows Explorer
6. Restart application then select the appropriate instrument type
