TECHNICAL PAPERS

Our popular online library of papers written by our in-house experts is a quick way for you to learn about particle counting and is available 24x7. Be sure to review it to find support for your application. Our papers include:

A Simple Guide To How Aerosol Particle Counters Work
When measuring very small quantities of anything, it is important to understand the operational technology, its benefits and its limitations. No measurement is absolute, all is relative to the measuring technique employed. For example, if particles are measured by a technology other than laser, such as a scanning electron microscope, we would not be surprised to get slightly different results. We might even get quite different results at certain sizes because the microscope technology is producing a response which differs from that produced by the particle counter. Basic Guide to Particle Counting: Recently Updated
We have recently updated this overview of particle contamination. It starts by discussing sources of contamination and monitoring technologies available, and continues by discussing various... Download this very popular paper today!
In AMC Monitoring, Simple Designs Go a Long Way
Over the past several years, different sensor and detection technologies have been adapting themselves by increasing their complexity in order to meet the requirements needed for effective (Airborne Molecular Contamination) AMC monitoring. Complex designs only add to the uncertainty in the measurement by introducing opportunity for the sample to be altered prior to detection, or by creating potential hardware failure points which require regular preventative maintenance. For AMC monitoring equipment, the principle of Occam’s razor appears to ring true – "All other things being equal, the simplest solution is best." Continue to learn more...
